Daniel L., Vietnam Veteran

Daniel received down-payment assistance and rent subsidy for the purchase of a used mobile home in Orange. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam conflict. He has moderate Parkinson’s disease which is a progressive disorder to the nervous system that affects movement.

There is no cure.

Daniel is currently applying to the VA for medical care to relieve the symptoms. Parkinson’s disease came years after his military service but there is hope for assistance. He is cared for today by a lifetime friend named Brian who lives with him and provides thoughtful care. Daniel said, “God bless Brian and God bless VAHP for this grant. It’s going to make this Christmas (2011) better than I expected. I was desperate. Now I have hope.”
