Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve lost or need my DD214

Most veterans and their next-of-kin can obtain free copies of their DD Form 214 (Report of Separation) and other military and medical records several ways.

Military personnel and health record information is usually free for veterans, next-of-kin, and authorized representatives.

Please visit http://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records/index.html for assistance and more information in recovering your records or those of your spouse.

Do I need to repay the assistance I receive?

The benefits provided are given to the veteran and do not have to be paid back – ever.

What is the inspiration for the Veterans Affordable Housing Program?

The inspiration for this program came from Richard Simonian, a former Army Special Forces member. Simonian is active in several veterans’ organizations and a number of charitable programs in Southern California. He has a heart for veterans who sacrificed for the U.S. He has a deep sympathy for the disabled and a clear understanding of economic hardship of these times. Simonian is CEO of Santiago Communities, Inc.
